LAKELINE SQUARE GREEN BUILDING:
What it means to be green.

The building industry is changing. We are no longer designing and constructing buildings in the same way. The green building movement offers an unprecedented opportunity to respond to the most important challenges of our time. The work of innovative building professionals is a fundamental driving force in the green building movement.

"Achieve better health, lower utility bills, less maintenance, and lasting value through green living."
There are basic standards of green building. Lakeline Square Town Homes raises these standards of green building; from energy star, which requires a basic 40-59 point system, to a full 5 star green ratring of 150 plus points, in which this community scored 188 out of 200. Combining these 2 building systems creates an eco-friendly, carbon footprint reducing community.

Building Green is more than offering energy efficient products. Lakeline Square Town Home uses American made products, Texas made products (windows, stone, cabinets, and doors), and local vendors.

Benefits of Owning a Built Green Home

Using Low volatile organic compounds or VOC assure a healthier enviroment by reducing the amount of chemicals and gasses into the air we breathe. Buildings, not cars, produce the most CO2 in the USA. The average new home is 45% larger than it was 30 years ago. Keeping our homes under 1400 sqft, and using rapidly renewable materials such as bamboo hardwood floors cuts the carbon footprint. If half of all light bulbs in the US were converted to compact fluorescents, we would reduce CO2 from lighting by 42.4 million tons a year or 36%. Lakeline Square Town Homes only uses energy conserving light bulbs in all of the our homes.

This community offers an eco-friendly environment with a colony of Purple Martin birds and dedicated green space. Purple Martin birds act as a natural pest control. One bird can eat up to 1100 insects day! Also we have conserved 50% green space Because our location is so close to the aquifer, we had to keep the buildings at 50% coverage. In order to comply, we incorporated a dog park, green space, court yard, and sitting areas on the property. Green space is important for water and tree conservation.

The benefits are endless with green building and green living. With making simple choices like shutting off a home computer the average person can cut the CO2 impact by 50% or 8.3 million tons. Going Green starts at home. We build homes to make a difference!
